Introduction to Easebuzz
In India's fast-growing digital economy, payment processing is among the most complicated issues for businesses of any size. From tiny startups grappling with disjoined payment systems to huge corporations looking for smooth fiscal operations, the requirement for a holistic payment solution has never been higher. That's exactly where Easebuzz, which was established in 2014, comes in as India's reliable full-stack payment tech platform.
Established by Rai Rohit Prasad and Vikram Kumar, Easebuzz started operations in 2016 with a well-defined mission: to create a products and services ecosystem that addresses business issues around payment acceptance, payouts, and financial operations. It now supports more than 2,00,000 businesses in India, processing over 1 million transactions per day with a GTV of over $30 billion annually.

The Challenges of Easebuzz
In India's booming digital economy, large payment gateways have been catering to massive businesses. What about millions of small and medium businesses — schools charging fees online, neighborhood stores seeking hassle-free billing, or startups requiring bespoke payment flows without recruiting a full-fledged tech team?
In 2014, Rohit Prasad spotted this gap while working in India’s fintech corridors. He envisioned a payment platform that wasn’t just a plug-and-play gateway but a customizable toolkit for every unique business need. Thus, Easebuzz was born.
Strategic Growth
Right from day one, Easebuzz set out to shatter the "one-size-fits-all" stereotype. Its cloud-based Payment APIs and low-code modules enable enterprises to customize collections, reconciliations, subscriptions, and even marketplaces — with a click of a few. No large IT budgets, no coding hassles.
Schools utilize Easebuzz's FeeBuzz to collect fees automatically and send reminders. Startups utilize its SmartBilling to create GST-ready invoices directly connected with payment streams. And small retailers utilize its LinkPay to collect payments immediately, even in the absence of a website.
The wizardry is in flexibility — while large gateways concentrate on transaction volumes, Easebuzz concentrates on business processes. Each API is independent, so clients can choose what they want and bypass intermediaries they don't need.
Financial Performance
Easebuzz handled transactions of ₹17,641 crore by FY23, enabling more than 150,000 businesses to streamline their money flows. The company clocked a good ₹63.4 crore in revenue and good profitability — a reflection of its asset-light, technology-led model.
Easebuzz has bigger aspirations than payments: it seeks to be an entire financial operating system for India's digital-first SMBs. Imagine credit, payouts, vendor settlements — all taken care of by clever, intuitive tools.
Supported by 8i Ventures and steadily expanding in Pune's startup ecosystem, Easebuzz reminds us that fintech success is not merely about catering to the giants — it is about empowering India's small and mid-sized businesses, the backbone of India's economy.
