Mini Metro’s electric rickshaws are driving India’s last-mile green mobility revolution, discover their impact and scale.
The Street-Level Challenge
In India's bustling cities and towns, millions depend on auto-rickshaws and three-wheelers for daily transport. But traditional fuel-powered vehicles meant high operating costs, pollution, and unreliable performance on rough roads. Small business owners needed affordable cargo solutions, while passengers wanted cleaner, quieter rides.
Enter Mini Metro EV LLP, founded in 2014 in Meerut with a simple mission: build electric three-wheelers tough enough for Indian roads and affordable enough for everyday drivers.

Engineering for Real Conditions
Mini Metro didn't just electrify existing designs—they reimagined them for Indian conditions. Their vehicles feature:
Passenger E-Rickshaws: 4-5 seater capacity with 1-1.2 kW BLDC motors, 80km range, hydraulic suspension, and robust steel chassis that can handle everything from city traffic to village roads.
Cargo Loaders: Heavy-duty variants with 400-1,000 kg payload capacity, same reliable powertrain, and flexible configurations including double-decker options for varied logistics needs.
Made in India, Built to Last
With a 50,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Meerut producing 50 units daily, Mini Metro sources 90% of components locally. Their in-house capabilities include CAD-CAM design, MIG welding, and complete paint finishing—ensuring quality control and cost efficiency.
The result? E-rickshaws priced at ₹1.0-1.8 lakh that deliver 80-110 km range on just ₹10-15 worth of electricity daily.
Impact on the Ground
Mini Metro's vehicles have transformed Meerut's streets and expanded across northern India through 100+ sales and service staff. For drivers, it means higher earnings with lower operating costs. For passengers, cleaner and quieter rides. For small businesses, efficient last-mile delivery solutions.
Driving India's Electric Future Transport
Mini Metro proves that India's EV revolution isn't just about cars—it's about practical, affordable solutions for the millions who depend on three-wheelers for their livelihood. By focusing on durability, local manufacturing, and real-world performance, they're electrifying India's last-mile transport one rickshaw at a time.
Their success shows how understanding local needs and building accordingly can create sustainable businesses that genuinely improve people's lives.
