In a small classroom in Bengaluru, four IIT alumni — Vamsi Krishna, Pulkit Jain, Anand Prakash, and Saurabh Saxena — often found themselves questioning the future of education. During the pandemic, as schools shut down overnight, Vedantu became a lifeline for millions. They made many of their courses free, launched initiatives like "Vedantu Improvement Promise" (guaranteeing learning outcomes or fee refunds), and reached even the remotest corners of India.
Backed by investors like Tiger Global and WestBridge Capital, Vedantu joined India’s unicorn club in 2021.But beyond the financial milestones, its biggest achievement was something money couldn't buy: trust. Parents, once skeptical about online education, started seeing real results. Students, once dependent solely on local coaching centers, now had India's best teachers just a click away.
Today, Vedantu continues to innovate. It has launched AI-powered learning tools, gamified classrooms to make studying more fun, and even started hybrid models combining online and offline learning.
In many ways, Vedantu’s journey reflects the larger transformation of Indian education — from rigid, one-size-fits-all models to flexible, tech-driven, student-centric experiences.
